Paul started to play the guitar at the age of 9. He is completely self taught which gives him a unique insight into how to teach the guitar in a logical structured way to help continuous improvment in all aspects of your playing.

This knowledge was obtained through mistakes he has made in his own development over the past 30 years.

He has played and gigged all over the North East, with numerous groups over the years, playing music ranging from Elvis to Jimmy Hendrix.

He has also been committed to Spennymoor Youth Theatre group for over 10 years where he has played shows ranging from Chess to Grease.

Paul is quite new to Guitar Tuition but continues to research and adapt the current best teaching methods in the hope of creating a more efficient learning experience, although there is no getting away from the fact that learning Guitar is not a short term commitment.

He specialises in Electric Guitar and primarily enjoys playing Rock and Blues music as Lead Guitar, although he is developing his own playing to enable him to offer ABRSM graded examination tutorage in the near future.

Paul is a great believer in utilising digital mixing equipment in his teaching to allow you to play and record along with a backing track.

This allows continuous self assesment which is the best way to develop your accuracy and technique and also enables Paul to burn a hard copy of your playing to take home and help your everyday practice.
